What is the proper way to announce an engagement in the Newspaper?

A newspaper engagement announcement is a great keepsake to keep forever! These type of newspaper announcement usually take place around two to three months prior to the wedding day. Keep in mind that these are only guidelines. However, it is usually the bride’s parents that make the announcement. The newspaper dose often have form that you can use when making your announcement. It probably goes something like this: Mr. and Mrs. James Johnson of Oxford, Mississippi announce the marriage of their daughter, Miss Anna Elisabeth Johnson, to Mr. Andrew Chandler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chandler of Auburn, Alabama. A November wedding is planned. Miss Johnson was graduated from the University of Mississippi and is a Clinical Specialist at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Mr. Chandler was graduated from University of Mississippi and is a Senior Marketing Specialist at Phillips & Jones.
