Joanne at Petal Pushers Florist (in Burnaby BC) was one of the first to see momentum building in trendsetting bridal bouquets.
Back in February Joanne wrote an editorial discussing the trend towards a more trendy and adventurous bridal bouquet. Here is what Joanne had to say:
After speaking with several wedding florists, they too are seeing the same trends.
As we go into 2010, we find the most popular bouquet is still the hand tied. Flowers loosely gathered and wrapped with ribbon instead of the traditional bouquet holder.
Flower choices go in cycles. Roses are definitely still the front runner, while hydrangea, peonies, orchids and tulips remain a trendy choice. But interesting enough, brides are becoming more adventurous and open to incorporating different types of varieties such as; leucadendron, berzelia, berries, interesting twigs and greeneries. With these interesting types of products and combination, it definitely sets the trend for a much more rustic and westcoast style bouquet.
But don't forget about all the really cool floral accessories we have available. From rhinestones, sparking gems, jeweled piks, feathers and glitter. The choices are endless…How creative are you? Inspired by trends, or the Trendsetter!
Their brides are asking for bridal bouquets with rhinestones, sparkling gems and other floral accessories. Adventurous styles are becoming a norm rather than an exception. So, thinking outside-of-the-box is a hot topic during wedding flower consultations sessions throughout North America.
As brides want more personalization in their wedding flowers, florist are creating uniquely beautiful wedding flowers. Guests this wedding season are sure to be dazzled with a variety of wedding bouquet styles from traditional to adventurous bouquets. This wedding season should be one of the most interesting in decades.
