On your perfect day, you want the perfect bouquet. Next to you, the flowers are poised to be the talk of the day (and possibly long after). Here are five summer 2015 trends in bouquets that can give you an idea of what you want.
Pretty Pastels
Pastels are the perfect color scheme for feeling like a princess. Once pastels took the color crown, they never went away, and now they are the biggest color trend of 2015. The best flowers to use are garden or hybrid tea roses, mingling with smaller flowers like freesia and some cute berries for an extra pastel punch (and a little light green, allowing you to shy away from dark foliage among your lighter colors.) Roses are always in-season and are available in many pastel hues, including pink and yellow. Pastel will add a splash of color to your white ensemble without overwhelming it.
Size Matters: Large-Petaled Flowers
If pastels are too, well, pastel for you, think about making a statement with bright, bold, large flowers open against each other. They’ll be practically fighting for superiority, but your florist will easily be able to balance them out so that there is harmony in the battleground (namely, your bouquet holder.) This will make quite a statement against your white dress!
White Wonder
Whether you prefer large or small flowers, there is no color scheme more classic, and yet still a strong trend, than white. Kim Kardashian’s wedding was pure white, with the added statement of clean lines and no exposed stems. All greenery was hidden behind voluminous ribbon to emphasize the pure white blossoms, and that look is easily attainable for you. Your florist has many bouquet holders and ribbon styles to choose from if you decide to go the covered-stem route.
Bold Bling
What’s more fun than a bit of sparkle? Your florist has tons of choices in bejeweled accents for any style of bouquet. All shapes, sizes and colors of sparkly goo-gah are at your fingertips; some are threaded onto wire to go around the stems, others can be pinned to the flowers themselves. Glitter can be minimal, tucked into the blossoms to catch the eye, or it can be an in-your-face statement to your guests: “I am the princess today!” Whatever you choose, a glittery bouquet is a trend-forward option.
Garden Glory
If you want a more natural look, your florist can make your bouquet appear as though you picked it straight from a garden or meadow. It can look as wild and untamed as you like; your florist will be able to secure it in such a way that it will stay together. For a really “from the garden” look, consider integrating flowering herbs as well as flowers.
Your wedding is your day, and the bouquet is part of the centerpiece – which is you! Trend-forward and never passé, you are the star. Good luck!
