You may already have the dress, shoes, cake, flowers and centerpieces for your wedding day. Invitations have been sent, venue picked and an order of events planned. But there's one more thing to add to your to-do list: pack a wedding day survival kit! Chances are, there will be some slip-ups at the wedding. It happens, but by packing an emergency kit, you can easily smooth over any mishaps!
Stay energized
Things are going to be fast paced starting from the moment you wake up until you jump in your getaway car. Breakfast and lunch may be missed and while fast food is tempting, pack a healthy bag of snacks to keep you going. Always keep water handy and try out bags of mixed nuts for protein, fruit and a cup of black coffee to help wake you up.
Don't fear rips or tears
Wedding dresses are delicate with all that lace, chiffon, and silk. It's definitely possible that while getting ready you may step on the hem, causing it to unravel, or you may get your lace bodice stuck on something and tear it. Don't stress! Pack a small sewing kit for just these instances. Fabric tape and safety pins are also essential and can be easily hidden on garments.
Take samples of everything
If you have your makeup done off site, it is so important to ask for samples to take with you to the venue if you need a touch up of foundation or eyeshadow. Also consider picking up travel sizes of deodorant, hairspray, and dry shampoo. Small items mean you can pack more into a smaller bag, which means you have less to keep up with during the hustle and bustle of your big day!
By packing an emergency kit ahead of time, you'll have the answer to every slip on the day of your wedding, making it not only less stressful for you, but your entire wedding party!
