When you get engaged, a million and one things are running through your mind. It's a personal and even whimsical experience when planning your wedding. You may think you have a wonderful idea and you start purchasing items, and then before you know it you've reached your max wedding budget. However, this doesn't have to happen. So, Wedding and Party Network has a few tips on how you can visualize your wedding.
-
Keep a physical wedding board. You may run across pictures in wedding magazines, photos on a wedding blog or snap a few when you're at wedding expos. Keep these pictures here. This definitely helps with the visualization and you may even find random pairings that you didn't know would look well together. Having an actual physical board or binder helps you keep track of everything. Looking at something on your own time has a whole different meaning when you're in a rush or just scanning through things. You may look at an item a few days later and realize that's not what you have in mind.
- Don't buy anything for a while. Yes, it's exciting that you're engaged and yes, you're ready to plan this wedding. However, don't start buying items right out of the gate. Don't run out and buy the first wedding gown you try on. You may look at it in a couple of months and realize that's not your style at all. So, take your time. This require planning and envisioning exactly what you want for your wedding day.
- DON'T BUY ANYTHING. Again, don't buy anything you don't need. You may be wasting your money on little craft items that you find at your local craft store that you think may make a wonderful addition to a centerpiece. However, how do you know it will even fit your wedding vision? Yes, even though you may be able to use these accessories that are on sale at your local craft store, don't buy it. It's a definite waste of money if you don't end up using it.
- You're allowed to change your mind. Who cares if your bridesmaids, family and even groom get tired of you being indecisive. It's your wedding and you want it to be perfect. You're allowed that. So, who cares whether you change your mind once or even 15,000 times for that matter, it's your wedding and you're allowed to change it. However, you might want to hold off on changing your mind a few days before the wedding.
Just remember, this is your wedding. It's a very important event and you want it to be special. Planning a wedding isn't an easy task. It takes time to really understand your style and what you want for it. So, start by visualizing it. Once you do, it'll give you a clear-cut plan.
