Check the Calendar – A lot of your guests maybe planning a summer vacation. They are more likely to plan one near a major holiday, like Fourth of July or Memorial Day so maybe your wedding can be the ideal vacation spot for them this year. They may want an extra day to explore your city. You also may want to think about it from another perspective as well since some may have family gatherings during these holidays too. So, be sure to send your save the dates way ahead of time.
Make it a Vacation – Since some of your guests will be traveling from out of time and even some that live in town may not have had the chance to explore their own city. So, put together a welcome kit for your guests. Include restaurant recommendations, sight-seeing activities, local magazine, road map and fill them in on some great children activities if they're traveling with kids. You may even want to gather up some of your guests and get them tickets to a baseball game or to the theatre.
Eat Local – Your town probably has some good eats to offer. Take advantage of your local eateries and support your community. Plus, this will give your guests something new to try!
Think About the Weather – Of course you'll have to deal with the heat, so keep that in mind when planning your wedding. If your wedding is outdoors, think of everything that could happen. Dress for It – Dress for a summer wedding. You don't want to be in a thicker fabric or longer sleeves on a hot summer day, and neither does anyone else. You'll definitely sweat all your makeup and hair spray off before you even walk down the aisle.
