Most people, before planning their weddings, think the colors that theme a wedding really aren't a big deal. However, as time goes on, and planning gets more intense, it becomes evident that colors really ARE a big deal. They determine the color of your invitations, boutonnieres, your bouquet, bridesmaids' dresses, and even your tablecloths at your reception. So, what are you supposed to do?
What's Your Favorite Color?
It can seem hard to pick two or three coordinating colors at first, but if you think about what your one favorite color is, it's easy to pick something to accent it. For example, if your favorite color is pink, consider using peach as your main color.
It's a shade of pink, but it's not baby pink or hot pink; its peach, and many wedding stores carry certain shades of peach that work well with everything. A color that goes well with peach is sea green, or a mint green. Neutrals also look good with peach. The key is to find colors that capture your personality, and of course coordinate well.
Going Neutral
You can also opt to have a completely neutral colored wedding. This means using tans, off-whites, creams, light peaches, khaki, and pastel colors. You can have a whole array of coordinating colors if you decide to go with neutrals! Neutrals truly make any wedding classic.
Capture Your Personality
Make sure to keep your colors in touch with your personality. Are you a summer person? Try beachy colors like turquoise and yellow. Do you like Fall? Try deep oranges, reds, or even brown. Colors really do show off your fun-loving personality and helps tell your story on your wedding day.
As soon as you figure out your colors, you'll be able to jump into more planning with ease. Good luck!
