Get rid of the unnecessary
Welcome baskets, calligrapher, programs, favors, and all other wedding items that aren't a must, get rid of them if you're wanting to cut costs. If you still feel like some of these items are a must, recruit some friends to help. Having friends that know how to create wedding programs or do calligraphy is an advantage and it saves you some money. Just remember, if you don't feel like it's necessary, don't spend the money on it.
