If you’re planning a wedding, especially in the winter months, why not decorate your wedding reception with a chocolate theme? Brown is the new black these days and chocolate brown is showing up everywhere: paired with pink and blue for babies, in leather furniture, handbags, even make-up. You could use chocolate satin fabric to drape windows, stages, round tables and chairs.
Because brown coordinates so perfectly with many colors—pink, turquoise, melon, lavender—it’s a great color to work with the chocolate theme for your wedding reception. Monogrammed napkins, matchbooks, and other party favors take on an elegant look in rich brown hues.
You can also coordinate your food with the chocolate theme. Why not use a chocolate fountain with fresh seasonal fruits, gourmet hot cocoa instead of coffee, and a luscious devil’s food wedding cake? With all the different hues of chocolate, you can use a variety of chocolate—dark, milk and white—in your menu and in your reception decoration ideas. You can go as far as your imagination will take you. How about Hershey’s Hugs ‘n Kisses wrapped in cellophane bags as place cards, boxed Godiva chocolates as party favors, and gourmet chocolate spoons with the coffee cups? The ideas are endless, but it’s sure to be a wedding reception you and your guests won’t soon forget.
