For the party invitations – Let your guests know exactly what type of party it is with your party invitations. Create a ticket with all the details and the Olympic logo with a torch for your invitations. This immediately lets your guests know what type of party you are hosting and gets them in the mood for it.
Decorate your party – Think about what you find at the Olympics, as well as what country is hosting it. Since this year it's in London, find inspiration from London for your party decorations. Make your own Olympic logo to hang over the food table or wherever you please, create your own torches out of balloons or , display gold, silver and bronze medals throughout the party and sport accessories throughout the party. Also, feature some accents from London in there as well. Oh, don't forget to incorproate the main colors into your party as well, such as red, blue, yellow and green.
What to eat – This is where you should really draw inspiration from the town that the Olympics are in this year. So, think about what type of food you will find in London. One thing that comes to mind is fish and chips. However, you also can feature bangers and mash, shepherd's pie and roast dinner. For the appetizers, just have fun with it. You can keep your regular appetizers like popcorn, chips, dip, cookies or candy. Just have fun with the names like competitors crunch, gold medal goodies and a drink station so your guests can rehydrate. You can also talk with your local caterer and they'll have lots of fun ideas for your Olympic themed party.
Olympic Activities – If you are planning your party to start a bit earlier before the opening ceremony begins, think about planning some fun activities beforehand. Set up hurdles, relay races, 400 yd dash, shot put, javelin, soccer kick off, discus, long jump or even a bean bag toss. Don't forget about the medals!
