Since it is unlikely that many of us will be attending the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29th at the beautiful Westminster Abbey, why not throw our own fabulous viewing party to enjoy the history in making! Celebrating the royal wedding gives perfect opportunity to re-create story book fantasies fit for a prince and his princess.
How To Decorate Like Royalty
You can incorporate the perfect royal touches and capture the elegance of this grand event by decorating your home as an English garden.
Create this garden setting with dramatic overflowing flower arrangements that include white lilies (known to be Kate's favorite), white daffodils, white roses and spring myrtle (a royal wedding tradition). Top it off with beautiful potted topiary throughout the party space. You can create an amazing fragrant English country charm!
Drape the tables set up for the buffet with lush fabrics and adorned with strings of hearts, crystals and your best china, of course! If luxurious china isn't in your budget, you can use silver and off white paper wear or clear plastic dishes to mimic crystal.
Eat Like The Queen
As for your party food, you can create an English tea party with a gorgeous tea bar including several different blends of teas from around the world. You will want your menu to incorporate British traditional cuisine. Some traditional foods that are great for parties are cottage pie, Croques Monsieur or just fish and chips.
Of course, you can take an easier route and make sandwiches with a hint of English flair! Cucumber, water-crest, egg salad, apple-cheddar or salmon and cream cheese are all English favorites. Try a mixture of sautéed mushrooms, fried tomatoes, pigs in a blanket, shrimp cocktails, chicken pot pies and scones for more delicious party foods.
As far as drinks go, Primm's cup is a British Tipple or choose champagne to toast the newly weds! Don't forget the royal cake! A wedding cake fit for a Queen! You can even choose mini cupcakes adorned with white icing to compliment the theme. This will all go along great for your royal party.
Yes, coverage does start extremely early in the morning for us, however, record it. Plan your party for that night! Now, sit back and watch the magic unfold as the beautiful bride walks down the aisle clad in gold, crystal and beautiful flowers as you sit back in your luxurious royal atmosphere with your friends and family alike.
