Ok, we know that Valentine’s Day is the worst day of the year if you are single right? Well this year, why not do something to make it fun for all of us single people. Everywhere you go its couples, couples, couples so, I decided this year I would throw a party for Valentine’s Day. Yes… a social mixer. Not only for single people, because that might be awkward, but just a fun party for everyone to meet new people and make acquaintances.
Here are a few party ideas that will help you throw your own V-Day Celebration.
Invitations are great for this type of party because it symbolizes formality and event importance. Anytime someone gets an invitation it automatically embeds the event into their memory. I suggest a cute and humorous party invitation for this type of event letting everyone know that light hearted fun is what the night is all about.
A fun way to incorporate participation at a party like this is to have everyone bring a bottle of wine. You could even center the event around a wine tasting; and it also is a great cost saving way to furnish your party beverages. You can even have guests rate the wines brought giving the person who brought the winning wine a special party favor.
The goal of this party is to get people acquainted, so playing games is a great way to do this. As your guests walk in the door, have them secretly write a phrase, movie, or thing that is representative of Valentine’s Day. Once all of the guests have arrived you’ll have a good game of charades waiting for you! What a fun Valentine’s Day for singles and couples both!
Remember Valentines Day does have to be for couples. A party with friends can make it special for everyone.
