Gather your supplies, and roll up your sleeves, because we're having a pumpkin carving party!
What You Need
Pumpkins- Enough for each person to have their own, or make sure to let people know they need to bring their own pumpkin on the invitation.
Carving Kits- You can buy these or create your own! Make sure they have a knife and something to scoop out the inside of the pumpkins.
Decorating Supplies- Paint, stencils, patterns, markers, anything you think your guests will need to decorate their pumpkins!
Protective Gear- Get plastic tablecloths, a tarp, or even newspapers to cover your work area and keep things clean.
Decorate It
If you are planning to carve your pumpkin, you'll need to cut off the top and clean the "guts" out. Remove all the seeds and pulp. This can be a time-consuming process. Here is a cool tutorial from A Wonderful Thought on cleaning a pumpkin in 2 minutes. Once your pumpkin is clean, choose a pattern, or draw on your own, and cut it out!
If you are planning to paint your pumpkin, make sure it is clean and dry before you begin painting. Use a pencil or pen to sketch out your design, or just freehand it!
Show It Off
After you are finished carving or painting your pumpkin, pick out the perfect place and display it! If you carved it, make sure to add a candle or lights to the inside to make it glow at night.
A pumpkin carving party makes a great fall themed party, or try something different for your Halloween party this year. Invite your guests to your party with the perfect invitation, then sit back and enjoy the fun!
