Of course, you've seen candy buffets at weddings, parties and on Pinterest. Now, you want to create your own with these helpful tips. It's really quite simple once you have a direction, but it's also a shop stopper at your party.
- Do you go with the theme of your party? – This is up to you. Going with the theme means you'll base your candy selection off this. Not going with the theme gives you free range. It's best to stick with your theme somewhat so it looks pulled together, even if it's just matching the colors.
- Picking Out Candy – This is the fun part. When buying candy, consider buying .5 lb per guest. Yes, that seems like a lot, but wouldn't you rather have leftovers than run out? Keep in mind guests, maybe if some of them have allergies and definitely the weather if you are hosting an outdoor event. You might have a catastrophic chocolate meltdown.
- Create signs – Let your guests know what they are actually eating. This is especially helpful for some of your guests who may have nut allergies.
- Candy Jars – There are many places you can shop for candy jars. Thrift stores or party stores are great places to buy candy containers.
- Don't Forget the Bags – Don't forget these. This is a great way to send left over candy home with your guests and also makes a great favor. Go with a small to medium size bag or box otherwise your guests might be inclined to fill their entire bag with candy if they have a large one.
We hope these 5 tips help when creating your own candy buffet. Also, don't forget to share those photos of your candy bar with us at social@weddingandpartynetwork.com.
