Party Parking
Parking is a detail usually ignored or as a afterthought when planning a party. Of course, you think of it when your throwing a huge party like a charity event. But, rarely do we think of parking for our small parties. So, what can you do so your quest aren't spending their time circling your home or party location seeking a place to park? You could always hire valets. Yet, that comes with not only a price, but the question of where to park the cars?
I suggest when you plan a party and select your location take a good long look at places cars can be parked. Then match the availability of parking with your guest list. Do you have enough parking on the street or your drive way to park for your guest? Does the party location your using have suitable parking?
Party Parking For The Home
Let's take a look at parking when your party is at home. If your lucky you've got a big driveway which can accommodate all of your guests. If not, street parking may be the best option. In most cases this is your best option. However, it means your guests will need to park in front of your neighbors homes. If street parking is necessary inform your neighbors that you will be entertaining. Politely ask your neighbors if it will be okay to park in front of their homes. I suggest handing your neighbors chocolates, wine or an invitation to the party as you ask them about parking. If you bare gifts, your neighbors are less likely to turn you down and may even offer their drive way.
If you live near a church or public park, you may be able to use those parking areas as well. Always contact the proper authorities before using these venues. Using off-site areas as a form of parking may require some type of transportation from the parking area to the party. A golf cart or other small vehicle is a convenient form of transportation with relative low cost.
Party Parking For A Restaurant Or Party Venue
If your having a party at a restaurant or another public location, make sure it has adequate parking. If not, investigate your parking choices. One options is to find a location with plenty of parking and shuttle your guests back and forth. This can easily be handled by hiring a limo service to shuttle your quests from parking to your party location.
Make sure you include parking instructions on the invitations. Whether you are e-mailing, mailing out or verbally inviting guests be sure to let them know where to park in advance. Don't leave your guests frustrated — wondering where to park.
