October is here! If you are wanting to host a Halloween party, now is the time to start planning. For this blog, we wanted to give you some tips on celebrating, whether that be with a party or taking your kids trick or treating.
Be Flexible
When planning any party or celebration, it is very easy to become overly stressed. Nail down the details of who, where, and when, then be flexible when it comes to the actual schedule of the party.
For trick or treating, you can map out a route for the night, but don't be afraid to venture of that route, as long as it's safe of course! Sometimes the best places to trick or treat are the least expected.
Be Aware
If you are hosting a Halloween party, be aware that some kids might scare more easily than others. Also, think about possible food allergies kids might have. A lot of candy contains allergens. This is important if you are handing out candy on Halloween as well.
If you are taking your kids trick or treating, stay in well lighted areas, and watch out for any strange behavior. It is Halloween, and some people still like to lean more towards ticking others than handing out treats.
Have Fun!
Halloween is a time to have fun, dress up, and enjoy yourself. Share that joy by not turning away trick or treaters of any age or costume. If you are throwing a party, make it costume optional, so people know they don't have to dress up if they don't want to. You could still have a costume contest which would provide incentive for people to dress up.
This is a magical time of year. Celebrate it with your friends and family. Decorate your house, fill up a giant bowl of candy, and prepare to hand out some tricks or treats of your own!
