International Day of Peace is on September 21st and is dedicated to peace and the absence of war. Do you know how you plan on celebrating this holiday? If not, it doesn’t have to be anything grand. The first year this holiday was celebrated was in 1981. Since then, a variety of foundations, activities and acts of peace has stemmed from this day.

- Ask them why people fight
- Have them come up with a possible solution
- Draw a poster that promotes their solution
- Create doves – which is the symbol for this day
- Crafts – make peace poles, peace malas, peace trees

- Create an event – A Peace Walk in your neighborhood is ideal.
- Hold an event at your workplace
- Film screening – Variety of films to watch or documentaries that promotes peace
- Help the environment – Plant a tree, pick up trash or start to recycle.
- Celebrate – Get your family together over a nice dinner and discuss this holiday and what it means
- Volunteer – It’s always nice to volunteer and to give back
