These days, it's all about being yourself. Fitting in is a thing of the past. Young adults define who they are with their choice of music, clothing, and even the cars they drive. So you can imagine the same rings true when high school administrators attempt to make everyone dress the same. Many graduates looking to express themselves grab a hot glue gun and go to work on their graduation caps.
Now, despite what many will say, decorated graduation caps are here to stay. In every graduating class, there are sure to be a few brave souls who cannot stand fitting in–even for a couple of hours. The results can be quite interesting! Blending into the background is no option for those who decorate their caps, so why not go all the way?! A few highlights:
Excellent statement. I just feel sorry for those sitting behind him!
This bold graduate has no problem letting everyone know his interests!

Duct tape, hot glue, sequins–you name it–and it can be found on a graduation cap these days. Some are clever, some touching, and some are downright wacky. All together they represent a group of young adults not afraid to be themselves. So when you see a few crazy creations in the graduation line, don't roll your eyes. Instead, be proud of the brave and bold group of people in line to lead the next generation–even if they are wearing duct tape on their heads.
