My fiancée and I have lived together for three years and already have a lot of the usual registry items.
Is it rude to put unconventional items on our registry, such as movie tickets and boardgames?

Modern couples often run into this problem. After living together for a while, you usually have the basic items. A good rule of thumb is to stick to items that are a gift to both of you. Movie tickets and boardgames are something that both you and your future spouse share and do together. However, items that can be considered “birthday gifts” like an iPod or some new heels are not a great choice to put on your registry. Offer a variety of gift options by considering upgrading some of your home items and put those things on your registry. Ultimately, a gift registry is there to give guests ideas for gifts and it is up to the giver what gift they would like to give you.
