Marriage Proposal Tip For Dummies
I bought Mika a ring for Valentine's Day before we were married (not a proposal, she was disappointed and hit me!) and it was the wrong size for that finger, so we returned it and got the right size. […] Buy them something (cheap ring, not as proposal) purposefully too small and make her go with you to jeweler to replace it – or she will tell you what size she needs. Or you can always just buy the engagement ring too large (not too small or she can't wear it) and have the jeweler size it down after the fact. I think the excitement of the proposal is the key part, not that the ring is too large and has to be sized down… don't buy it too small though. ~Steve P.
Never Strike Out Thanks To This Engagement Ring Sizing Suggestion
Take your partner to go bowling. I think bowling balls are sized to finger dimensions. ~Marla M.
I Promise You Clean Wedding Jewelry
My husband took my rings to clean them while we was at the mall. He came back after getting my rings cleaned, with a new little box and it was my promise ring inside. ~Amy H.
My, What Small Fingers You Have
While holding hands you could comment on how small her fingers are. With a little luck and coaxing you might get her to give you her ring size without ever asking for it. After all if it's on your mind it may very well be on hers as well, and if it is it may be all too easy to get her ring size by bringing up any subject close to it. ~Kier H.
The next time you are sitting together holding hands brush your finger tips all over her hands and fingers. While doing this run your pinkie finger up the inside of her ring finger. Make note using your knuckles as a guide how far down your pinkie finger the base of her ring finger gets before disappearing behind the edges. Now you can go get your pinkie sized at that knuckle to get a good approximation of her ring size. ~Kier H.
Tame The Fighter In Your Girl With This Tip
My wife was very active in local mixed martial arts groups and spent as much of her time training as a fighter. We were joking around in a store one day and picked up some brass knuckles. I wound up buying the pair that she liked the best as a gag gift and presenting it to her right before the engagement ring. The jeweler was able to get very close to her ring size based on the knuckles that I'd brought to him. She loved it! ~ Aaron J.
Hug A Tree, Size A Finger
At the time, my girlfriend and I were very into nature walks. We went out one day and came across some wildflowers. She began weaving dandelion stalks together with small wildflowers to make a make-shift necklace. I twisted a stem into a small ring around her finger and proposed there. I later asked her sister to ask for the ring to make a wedding scrapbook from beginning to end. Her sister gave me back the ring and I took it to our local jeweler for size reference. The real ring was a great surprise later. ~Mark C.
