One of the most difficult decisions in the wedding planning process is picking a venue. It is hard to imagine what your wedding reception will look like when you are touring empty rooms without tables, chairs and decorations. Glamorous Reception
This beautiful reception space is lined with floor to ceiling windows making the room feel open, bright and large. This reception layout is a mixture of rectangular and circular tables. There are large hanging drapes that match the color scheme and divide the room. The white and pink floral centerpieces, white tablecloths and candles, and light pink napkins are a beautiful contrast to the black chairs and wood tables. A venue like this is perfect for a wedding in any season.

Wedding Capital of the South

The Ringgold Wedding Chapel is located in the heart of the wedding capital of the south, Ringgold, GA. This historic chapel has been the choice of venue for thousands of couples from all over the world. Whether you are a walk-in couple or planning the wedding of your dreams, their professional staff is ready to help you.

Rich History
The Ringgold Wedding Chapel began as an Episcopal Methodist church in 1845. The church was destroyed in the Civil War by fire as Sherman marched towards Atlanta. The church was rebuilt though with a mere $600. In 1987 Helen Boyd opened the chapel to brides and grooms and began to join couples together as one. Teresa James purchased the business in 2008 and transformed the old church into a first class wedding chapel. Since then, the chapel has served not only the southeast, but happy couples from all over the world.

Ringgold, GA acquired the name, wedding capital of the south, due to the simple process of obtaining a marriage license and being married all in the same day at a convenient location. The Ringgold Wedding Chapel is located directly across the street from the Catoosa County Courthouse. Only one piece of identification is required from a bride and groom and the marriage license costs $65 in cash. Judges in other counties often are not able to schedule weddings right away. In Ringgold though the probate and magistrate judges are willing to marry couples as they show up.

Famous Celebrities
The Ringgold Wedding Chapel has married couples from all walks of life including celebrities such as: Dolly Parton and Carl, Don Everly of the Everly Brothers, Tammy Wynette and George Jones, Bob Harvey of the Jefferson Airplane, and Rick Townsend from the New York Giants and San Francisco 49’ers.

This historic chapel was nominated for the Chattanooga Times Free Press: Best of the Best in Wedding Venue in 2011 and won in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.

The Sweet Granada: A Chocolate Cafe

The Sweet Granada is a family-owned sweets shop located in Emporia, KS. This shop specializes in fresh fudge, handmade chocolates and other confections and gifts. All of the tasty products are made in small batches to guarantee quality and freshness.

This shop takes pride in offering a large selection of gourmet sweets made with premium ingredients. The Sweet Granada production team handcrafts more than 100 different gourmet chocolates. Some customer favorites include caramels, nut clusters, caramel nut clusters, creams, s’mores, dipped Oreos, double-dipped cherries, chocolate-caramel pretzels and more.

In November 2004, the mother-daughter team of Toni Bowling and Kim Redeker opened The Sweet Granada at its original location in the Granada Theatre south storefront. Toni’s son, Steve, helped design the shop. Toni’s husband, Steve, could be found dipping white chocolate doggie treats. Kim’s husband, Steve (yes, that’s right – they are all named Steve) is the official Sweet Granada bookkeeper. Kim and Steve’s children, Emmy and Joe, have grown up in the business and continue to do their share especially during school breaks. All of the other family members, have the best job of all – official test tester! In October 2013, The Sweet Granada moved to its new home sweet home right next door where customers enjoy watching the production team at work while browsing the retail shop for all their favorite confections.

A bridesmaids’ luncheon can be an elaborate party or a simple get-together. It’s typically a brunch, luncheon, or an afternoon tea. The luncheon is a special time to reminisce over sweet memories with your bridesmaids.

Who hosts it?
Traditionally the bridesmaids’ luncheon was either hosted by the bridesmaids honoring the bride, or by the bride honoring the bridesmaids. Today though the luncheon is almost always hosted by the bride and her mother as a thank-you to the bridesmaids.

Wedding Traditions Around the World

Marriage is an ancient institution that even predates recorded history. Every country and culture holds their own traditions surrounding marriage and the wedding day. While love is always the common theme, the ceremonies and celebrations look vastly different.

Scottish Tradition
The “Pinning of the Tartan” is an ancient wedding tradition in Scotland. After the proclamation of husband and wife, a member of the groom's family may present the bride with the clan tartan in the form of a pin or a sash. This presentation is a symbol of the bride’s acceptance into the groom’s clan.
