Answer:

Whatever your reason to not invite a family member or a friend, remember that this is your wedding and your decision is important. Stand your ground, but be polite. If budget is a reason, mention that. Tell her that although you and your fiancée would love for her to attend, unfortunately your budget or the size of your venue has caused you to make tough decisions regarding your guest list.

You can choose anyone to walk you down the aisle on your big day. You can choose your mother, a sibling, or a close relative. You can even decide to go unaccompanied or walk down the aisle with your future spouse. The “giving away” of the bride is your choice and it should be someone you want by your side before you say I do!
