Some people on my list live very far away and they most likely will not attend. Should I send them an invitation anyway?

Answer:

If they are close family and friends, go ahead and send them an invite, but add a personalized note recognizing that they will be missed and that the invitation is a momento. For those who aren't as close and you know for sure can't attend, don't send them an invitation so as to avoid giving the impression that you expect a gift from them anyway.
