Thanksgiving Traditions

New & Old

Thanksgiving season is here and with it comes our favorite long-held traditions. But traditions can only stay alive if we enjoy keeping them, so here are some tips for spicing up classic turkey day traditions.

  • Family Celebration – Connect in a different way this year! Use video conferencing to chat with family unable to visit in person.
  • Football – Not everyone loves watching the game, so start a new tradition of getting off the couch with darts, ping pong or horseshoes!
  • Turkey Dinner – Especially in families with multiple events to attend, try to simplify! Serve appetizers instead and spend more time together. At the very least, try replacing one side dish or dessert with a new recipe.
  • Giving Thanks – Make Thanksgiving a little more tangible and a lot more fun with a “Thanks Jar.” Get everyone to write down what they are thankful on a slip of paper and after dinner, take turns reading them aloud. Save the best ones to include in your photo album!

Go on, start some fun and fabulous new traditions to make your Thanksgiving truly memorable.
