Fall Party Themes
The end of summer marks the beginning of a new season. This fall, keep up the festivities with Wedding and Party Network's top five fall party themes.
Caramel Apple Party
Caramel apples are a popular fall treat that can be made in many ways. Have your guests make these sweet treats with a candy apple buffet. Set up different caramel types to dip and an assortment of candies and nuts to decorate the apples. Add a Halloween tradition and have your guests bob for their apple.
Homemade Pie Party
Like a cookie exchange, have friends bring a small homemade pie and hold a competition for the best tasting pie. Give out a prize to the winner. You can also go a different route and have friends in teams bake a pie together. Have some beginner bakers show their hidden talents.
Smores Bonfire Party
A bonfire is an autumn staple, but shake it up with a smores buffet. Every one knows the three basic ingredients for smores, but try using an assortment of treats to make this smores party unique. Try cookies instead of crackers, peanut butter or white chocolate instead of the normal Hersheys, and a festive Peep instead of a plain marshmallow.
Pumpkin Carving Party
Get the season ready with your own mini pumpkin patch in your backyard. Choose a couple of pumpkins from your local grocery store and get your friends and family to play ring toss to choose their pumpkin. Hold a pumpkin carving or decorating competition and everyone can take their pumpkin home as their party favor.
Day of the Dead Party
Make a party out of this hispanic tradition that celebrates life. Decorate with colorful paper-cutting banners, ma skull head cookies, have a face-painting booth, and tell the story of the Day of the Dead. Make this party in October just in time for the upcoming movie, The Book of Life.
All of these themes can be family-friendly or tweaked for an adult-only affair. Liven up a fall party with anyone of these themes for a fun holiday season. Check back for more Wedding and Party ideas and tips.

Tailgating 101
With summer winding down, the countdown to the first kickoff of the season has begun! The comradery of uniting with fellow football fans for good food and drinks before the big game is like no other experience. With the right setup, you too can have a good time hosting a tailgate. Luckily, Wedding and Party Network has some great tailgating tips to get you and your “team” prepared for the great season ahead!
Find a Good Parking Spot
As the saying goes, “The early bird gets the worm.” It’s no different when trying to find the perfect place to set up before kickoff. Arriving early gives you plenty of time to unpack your supplies, set up a tent and some tables, and enjoy the scenery. You also have the option to park or set up near a tree for shade. Keep in mind that you may have to pay for a parking pass, so be prepared with some spare cash on hand.
Grill Some Great Food
What’s a party without delicious food? When you arrive, you’ll likely smell the wonderful aroma of grilled meat from your fellow tailgaters, so it’s a good call to load up the grill or call dibs on a public one. Pack a cooler with the staples: hamburger patties, hot dogs, brats, and/or chicken wings. Have your friends bring other essentials such as buns, side dishes, paper plates, napkins, and condiments so the burden isn’t all on you of providing the grub.
Pass the Time with Fun Games
Another staple of tailgating is the games you play with your buddies. It’s always a good call to bring a spare pigskin or two for you and your friends to toss around. You could also provide some friendly competition with some baggo (also known as “cornhole” or “bean bag toss”) or card games. The possibilities are endless!
Remember: there is no right or wrong way to tailgate. All that matters is that you and your guests have fun celebrating the sport of football. So fire up the grill, stuff the cooler with refreshing drinks, grab the folding arm chairs, and head out to the stadium with fellow fans for a great time!
Fall Party Theme: Pumpkin Painting!
When I think of fall, I usually think of pumpkins. I also think of leaves, candy corn and scarves, but pumpkins hold a special place in my fall-lovin’ heart. If you want an easy decoration for your entryway, just place a couple of pumpkins by your door and voilà! They really speak for themselves. Since I love pumpkins so much, I enjoy getting everyone involved by hosting a pumpkin painting party!
This is a budget friendly party, and makes for a great girl's night in! They'll love creating some fun decor for Halloween. So, what do you need? Here are 3 easy steps to host a fun night in painting pumpkins.Split the Supplies: If you're making it a girls' night, have each girlfriend bring whatever supplies they want. The medley of supplies will be fun to rummage through and will give you plenty of options to give your pumpkins some flair.
Get the Kids Involved: You don’t have to worry about finding someone to watch your kids. Bring them along and let them paint their own pumpkins. You may want to make sure their paint is washable, or better yet, have them wear some old clothes and let them get messy. Kids love to do what adults are doing and this will give them the opportunity to use their growing imaginations!
Decoration Ideas: Like I said, it doesn’t take much for a pumpkin to be the perfect fall decoration, but there are plenty of ways to spice up a bare pumpkin. Glitter is always pretty. It’s one of my favorite accents to any sort of holiday craft. A big pumpkin covered in silver glitter is simple, yet eye-catching. Simply paint your pumpkin with Mod Podge glue or a spray adhesive and shake on some glitter.
Gold metallic paint is a good choice for another simple, but really pretty idea. Ribbon or buttons could be glued on as well. Or, if you’re feeling extra creative, stencil or free hand any sort of pattern onto your pumpkin. To make colors more vibrant, cover the pumpkin in white craft paint, let dry, and then apply the color you want to use. They key is to get creative!Carving pumpkins is a fun tradition, but painting them takes a lot less elbow grease, and keeps them from rotting so you can enjoy them all season long.

Fall in Love This Fall
Fall is the perfect time to say I love you. So, for those gentlemen who are searching the internet for a perfect way to propose in the near future. Look no further. Here are a few ideas I came up with to help the search and ease the process.
- Pumpkin Patch – Fall isn’t fall without pumpkins. So, talk to your local pumpkin patch owner to discuss the arrangement. Then, take your girl on a surprise pumpkin patch date. Once she has found the perfect pumpkin, offer to carry it for her. Then, quietly slip the beautiful ring on the stem.
- Pumpkin Carvings – Host a pumpkin carving party at your house. Discuss beforehand to have each friend carve out a word of the phrase, “Name, will you marry me?” When everyone is done, simply announce to turn the pumpkins around.
Any time of year is great time to take the next step with one you love the most, however, she'll definitely say yes with these adorable fall proposals.
